Rugby Season Starts

The Rugby season, as with that of most other sports, officially commences with the annual meeting of delegates. All clubs were fully represented when this year's annual meeting of the union was held. The most interesting outcome of this meeting was a decision to consider a proposal for the erection of the union's own administration building on a site behind the Garrison Band rooms by Trafalgar Park. The scheme was submitted by life member, Bill Reed, who estimated that with voluntary labour, the building could be erected for about $3700. A rough plan of the project, which caters for committee rooms, a kitchen and a large hall area, as well as other necessary amenities, is reprinted at right.
