A Pulp Mill?

×

Some of the gloom that accompanied the abandonment of the cotton mill was dispelled with the arrival in Nelson of Sir David Henry, chairman of directors of the New Zealand Forest Products Ltd., and Ms team of experts. The object of his visit was to examine forest potential and other factors which could have a bearing on the possible establishment of a pulp mill in the district, During his visit he went to Golden Downs, and is pictured here (fourth from left) with Messrs R. Williams (Forest Service), L. Hunter (partly obscured), P. E. W. Maplesden (Conservator of Forests), L. E. H. Baigent, A. P. Thompson (Forest Service) and J. Henry (forester to Sir David's Company), The result of the visit? As yet unknown.
