While the Japanese logging vessel Daiko Maru was loading at Port Nelson, it was evidently decided to do a little painting as a means of keeping the crew occupied. But there's nothing like mixing business with a little pleasure (or vice versa), so one crew member believed. In between scrubbing and painting he took a few seconds off to see if the fish were nibbling the three lines he had set.

What happens to the breakdown boat when the breakdown boat breaks down? That was the question we asked when the Aurora Sailing Club's rescue boat, J. J. Cook, died in the harbour recently. Morris Amos's new keeler came to the rescue and towed it home. Any chance of salvage fees, Morris?
