Nelson Rowing Club members boarding a Friendship en route to Wellington for the Wellington rowing championships. And they did pretty well, the novice and junior fours crews winning titles, and Ian Hatton was third in the junior single sculls.

From Tadmor comes this pic of Paul Clemens and his king-size lettuce. It won champion award in the Tadmor School garden which itself was placed first in boys' and girls' agricultural club project.

Mr W. L. Osgood, of 138 Main Road, Tahunanui, beside his unusual glasshouse. Instead of ordinary glass he has used old fluorescent tubes. These have diffused the light but have still given him the heat required.
