Royal Navy Pays Nelson A Visit

×

One of the most important visitors to Nelson during the holiday period was the British destroyer, H. M. S. Caprice. The vessel spent seven days at McLashen Quay and although the weather over this period was very unlike Nelson's holiday weather, the officers and men thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the many carnival functions. This picture of the Caprice entering Nelson was taken from Haulashore Island.
