The Wearin 'o' the Kilt

George Mockler, popular conductor of the Nelson Citizens' band, came a cropper at the band's annual meeting. After a little badinage over the provision of a summer uniform for the bank, George said that if a kilt was provided, he would wear it. And that's where he came his cropper, for Jimmy Willox, president of the Nelson Highland pipe Band, and Merv Malandine, spirited him away to parts unknown and when they re-entered the hall later, they had George kiltified. These pictures by the Peter Cooper Studio tell the remainder of the story.

Des Sullivan found it highly amusing, and he wasn't alone in that.
