What Are We Doing For Our Visitors?

So you don't think much of these views of Nelson taken from the geographical centre of New Zealand? Neither do we. Yet they are the views that greet the eyes of the hundreds of visitors to Nelson after a hard grind up Botanical Hill. The hill offers possibly the best and most panoramic view of Nelson that can be obtained, but It is hidden from all by trees. The Wood, famed New Zealand over for its vast expanse of glasshouses, Is nearly completely submerged in useless foliage.

Can we make a suggestion - one incidentally that has been made to us by visitors after they had descended the hill. It is that the Domain Board cut down, or at least top some of those trees that serve only to blot out from visiting and critical eyes the beauties of Nelson city. One further suggestion - some signboard at the trig station with information on the significance of the trig station, and possibly a raised platform a few yards behind it from which visitors could take photos of the station with unobstructed Nelson city as the background. This could make a good project for Jaycee.
