Match Play Title To Kelvin Gardiner

Kelvin Gardiner squeaked through the first round of the Nelson provincial golf championship and then went on to win the final against Freyberg selector Eddie Bradley of Motueka, two up. In the first round Gardiner was two down with three to play against seven handicapper Howard Ivory of Takaka, but recovered to win. Conditions for the two days of golf on the Greenacres course were ideal.
