'Terry Goodall, an electrician at the Golden Bay Cement Co., receives his gold medal, for topping an N.Z.I.E. examination for advanced trade certificate, from the deputy Mayor, Mr W. C. Kane.

Those who recently received membership certificates to the New Zealand Institute of Electricians were Phil Sampson and Gerry Brough (Wakefield), John Cooper (Nelson), David Williams and Lewis Windleborn (Richmond), and John McBrearty (Marybank). With them is Mr Kane, who made the presentations.

Pushing a bed on wheels was a method chosen, by members of the Nelson West Rotoract Club, to raise funds for the Sunnybank Boys' Home. The bed was pushed from the Three Brothers Corner to the Church Steps, and the 10-mile journey took about four hours. Passenger for the last section was radio personality Mike Coyle.
