Bent Sprint

Doug Evans of Motueka, in a single-seater Lotus, won the Nelson Car Club's bent sprint, at River Road. Evans's best time of 28.4 sec was 1.8 sec faster than Ross Hore, in an Osca Farina-Ford. Gene Mills had a touch of bad luck when his Mgb hit a bank and rolled, damaging the side and roof. Mills was not hurt. (Photos: Keith Turner).
