Presentation To Mr & Mrs "Nelson Rugby"

Tribute to the outstanding service given by the past president of the Nelson Rugby Football Club, Bill Reed, and Mrs Reed, was paid by club members recently. Mr Reed retired as president of the club this year after 56 years of service in all capacities – as a player, a coach and president. Bill captained the Nelson rep team, played for the South Island and was an All Black trialist. He was later a Nelson and South Island selector. Included in his services to the club, of which he is a life member, is a book, "100 Years of Rugby," which is a history of the Nelson club, the oldest in New Zealand. Mr Reed paid tribute to the support he received from Mrs Reed during his long association with the club.
