For the sixth time, a Stoke team has won the St John's first aid team test between Nelson and Marlborough, at the Marlborough competitions. The successful team this year was Helen Panirau, Christine Drummond, Christine Panirau (leader), Mrs D. Climo (instructor) and Lorraine Harris

Other Stoke first aiders who competed were Patricia Howard and Sandra Connew and, sitting, Claire and Judith Briggs and Dianne Christieson. With them is Mrs M. Anderson, superintendent of Stoke Cadet Nursing.

Mr and Mrs G. Loach, centre, recently celebrated their Platinum wedding anniversary: 65 years of wedded bliss. They had six children and Mrs Loach said, "I've lost count of the grandchildren and great grand-children." With Mr and Mrs Loach are Mr S. J. Burgess, a family friend, and the matron at Alexandra Home, where the celebration was held, Mrs P. Reay. The couple were married at Gerald-ine on March 27,1907.
