Monaco Boat Club Show Was an Outstanding Success
The two-day boat show, organised by the Monaco Boat Club to cover some of the cost of recent reclamation and to assist in the provision of a new clubhouse, jetty and boat launching ramp, was an outstanding success. Up to 9000 people flocked to Richmond Park and gate takings exceeded $1000. This was the third show the club had organised in the 13 years of its existence. The last was in 1963.
Four-year-old Nicola Rogers was keen to take her teddy for a ride on the catamaran Cheetah
One of the more popular exhibits at the show was this two-man hovercraft which is capable of 50mph over open country. The craft can be assembled from a kit and is also assembled by Cee Bee Marine Ltd, Christchurch. The hovercraft can carry 30 stone, so it had no difficulty supporting our pretty model Jane Haden-Morris

A popular attraction was the mannequin parade. Some of the models like Richelle Cotton were lovely. Others, BELOW, were not
The sleek lines of the Hamilton Jet 32 attracted many looks. You'd have to dig deep for this one
