Ventura Takes to the Sea

After resting on a farm at Appleby for the last 20 years a World War II Ventura bomber headed for Western Springs, and restoration, on the Puriri recently. The aircraft has been acquired by the Aviation Division of the Museum of Transport and Technology from an Appleby farmer, Mr J. D. Russ, who purchased the bomber by tender, after the war. He wanted it for spare parts.
