Success has come early to Susan Brunwin, 13, who was chosen to sing on the national television programme Happen Inn. Susan, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. K. Brunwin, Tahunanui, sings a variety of songs. She's also keen on sandyachting, fishing, shooting and motorbike scrambling
Congratulations to Shirley Horrocks and Brenda De Butts on the publication of their book "Historic Nelson, " which came on to the market recently. The 48-page book contains 60 illustrations by Miss De Butts. Mrs Horrocks, women's editor on "The Mail, " took about two years to do research for the book and wrote it in about six weeks. The work is very interesting and is a must for all Nelsonians. It is published by A. H. & A. W. Reed, and retails for 85 cents. The photo shows Mrs Horrocks and Miss De Butts appraising one of the first copies off the press. The picture on the wall was adapted by Miss De Butts for the cover. The original, painted by Miss Martha Eames, is of about 1860 vintage
