Table Tennis Title Tilts
One of the most impressive performances at the Nelson open table tennis championships came from a young Christchurch player Kevin Duffy. He was unseeded in the open event but beat No.3 seed, Larry Vallance, in five sets and was eliminated in a five-set semi-final by eventual winner, Noel Williams, Marlborough. Duffy easily won the boys' title.
