Off to the Mardi Gras

×

This photograph was taken by Miss K. Brown in about 1920 when her uncle, Les Brown (left), and a hunting companion, Mr Blundell, were on their way to participate in the Mardi Gras procession. They covered the cart with a variety of hunting trophies (look at the size of that tusker!) and set off. The deer, Bill, was given to Miss Brown by her uncle and was a well known identity on Mamuku until he died about 20 years later.
