Mrs Gwen Sparrow recently resigned as District Commissioner of the Rainui District of Girl Guides and thus ended a long association with guide work in Nelson. Here she leads group singing on her final night with guides.

Mrs E. E. Blincoe is waiting to be a great-great grandmother, Mrs I. Z. Blincoe will be a great grandmother and Mr Allan Blincoe will be a great uncle when Mrs Annette Bowatcr, the younger Mrs Blincoe's grand-daughter, has her baby, expected next month. Mrs Bowater and her husband, Colin are in Hamilton.

Nine members of the Iron Duke Cub Pack and four adults were off to Wellington to have a look at life in the big smoke shortly after this was taken. The boys are: Graeme Vining, Peter Harling, Jonathan Pracey, David Stocker, Mark Lowrie, David West, Simon Eaton, John Noller and Michael Glover. Accompanying them were Ross Duncan, Diane Allen, Mrs Duncan and Christine Bush.
