Our Cover

Our cover features three girls in a wide range of gear from the Miss Nelson contest. Marilyn Floyd is wearing a pure wool knit tunic suit with sleeveless midlength jacket-coat. Lyn Barker models an Italian Donegal piece-jacket midi suit, and Mary Satherley is in a mini kilt and jumper-singlet top. The girls are wearing scarves and berets hand-knitted in Italy. The steel steed is a Suzuki T500R and you can get one of them from R. B. Motorcycles for about $1, 099. It'll do about 115mph.

Back Cover: The New Zealand air pageant, probably the main event in Nelson this year, attracted more than 15,000 people and many of them can be seen in the massed car park. In the foreground one of the Red Checkers' Harvards is taxiing on to the strip and at the left is the sleek Skyhawk.

In this issue we feature the national air pageant, the centenary of the Nelson Convent and also take a look at developments in the hop industry. We would like to thank the previous editor, Barry Simpson, for many excellent photographs of the aircraft in the pageant taken on the Friday when a clear sky gave an excellent background. Once more can we stress: If It Looks Like A News Photo - Ring Photo News.
