Retiring from the "rag" trade after 24 years' business in Nelson, is Basil Dalefield, seen here with wife Alma. Basil began in business in Hardy Street in 1947. Both are looking forward to an overseas trip.

Big thrill for Bevan Eathorne, formerly of Nelson (and due to return home next year, we hear), and now of Calgary, Canada. Bevan is playing club Rugby in Calgary and was advised recently he had been chosen as a reserve to the Canadian team to play Fiji (November 28). His name has also been included in the list of players for selection to the Canadian team to make a six-game tour of Wales next year.
