Intermediate School's Drama Evening

Pupils of Nelson Intermediate School presented a varied programme at their annual drama evening. They mixed a little Shakespeare with some country music, some excellent gymnastic dancing and a little piracy. The concoction was very easy to swallow. The little dash of Shakespeare was from "A Midsummer Night's Dream", pictures of which are shown at Left and Below. One of the best numbers was "Life" depicted by the gymnastic dancers (Above). This was extremely well presented.

Keeping everyone informed from the wings: Perseus (Jackie Martin), Lysander (Rosalie Gibbs), Demetrius (Irene Wastney), Theseus (Celia Coburn) and Hippolyta (Helen Reynolds).

The pictures on this page are of the Country and Western interlude (Top) and of the short three-act play, "Pirates Can't Be Gentlemen".

Some very pleasing singing of well-known country-style songs emanated from this group

More prisoners for the pirates, and these, together with Sahra, proved too much of a handful.
