Fishy Story
We heard stories of a whitebait run at Appleby, so went out to have a look. The whitebait must have heard about it, however, for the run had dwindled to a walk by the time we arrived. But some got enough for a feed and a couple of others got fish of a different variety.
Ron and Alice Sherwood got a few out of this sweep but, at
Honor Gridley and Denise Titmus found the pickings poor.
No whitebait, but plenty of herrings (and beauties, too) found their way into the net trawled by Keith Inwood and Peter and Warren Robinson.
But Bill Kemp scooped the pool with this fine 13 lb snapper off the Rabbit Island beach.
