Seven new teaching rooms and one large group teaching room are included in this extension to the School of Music being erected in Nile Street. The two-storey building is to cost about $27,000 and will be ready by the beginning of the school term next year. Special care has been taken by the architect to ensure that the building is aesthetically pleasing alongside the distinctive architecture of the old building.

The Self Help in the Hardy Mall has outgrown its already extensive shopping area and extensions are being made to the building to give the supermarket an additional 2000 sq. ft. of floor space.

The new building being erected alongside the Provincial Hotel in Bridge Street, is to be occupied by the legal firm of Knapp, Pearmain, Botting and James upon its completion. The building will be of two-storey construction.
