Air Force Exercise

Twelve aircraft of the Royal New Zealand Air Force were used by the Pilot Training Squadron and the Navigation and Air Electronics Squadron, during a week-long exercise at Nelson airport. They were supported by ground staff. The weather was far from its best for the exercise, code-named "Red Owl Four". Using the theme "big owl is watching", each branch of the service had its insignia prominently displayed. Below are the insignias of the "NATS" and the technical wing, and Below Centre, the insignia of the pilot trainees. Shown Above are the Harvard and Devon aircraft used in the operation.
