New Sewerage Scheme Now in Use

Nelson city's new sewerage scheme was commissioned at a small ceremony at the main pumping station behind Neale Park last month. The scheme, estimated to cost $1 million, was completed for $850,000, a considerable saving. Before the new plant was commissioned, representatives of local bodies and the public were shown over the plant and the system explained to them. Above Left-Guests look over the inlet structure. In the foreground are the comminutors, which finely sieve the sewage. Above-Design engineer of the project, Mr G. Ade.
