Electrical Milestone

The Nelson City Council's electricity sub-station in Haven Road is now better able to cope with heavy load periods. Last month a new bank of three transformers, with a capacity of 33,000 volts, was enlivened in a small ceremony at the substation. Before the new bank was brought in, the station had at times been operating to nearly full capacity.
