The little children in this photograph, taken about 1922, are probably somebody's grandmothers and grandfathers today. The pic was taken from about the spot where Richardson Street joins Wakefield Quay.

Nelson South, 1922, looking down on the town from some point on St. Vincent Street or further round, say Thompson Terrace. The density of housing is certainly not as heavy as it is today. Note the hill to the left of the picture. That&'s the Mount Street-Konini Streets area. Appears to be farmland in 1922.
