New Play Centre for Brightwater

The Nelson Playcentre Association extended its activities into Brightwater recently. In the new Brightwater Hall, Mr Bill Rowling, M.P. for Buller, cut a ribbon (Above) to open the new Brightwater Playcentre and then watched children of the district using the equipment provided for them. There was more to the foundation of this centre than this, however. The opening was the culmination of hundreds of manhours spent in raising money for the equipment necessary and all involved are to be congratulated on their "self help" attitude.
