Children Climb Mount Arthur
A group of 32 children drawn from std. 4 and Form I at Tapawera District High School made an ascent of Mount Arthur recently during a weekend camp. The group, in the charge of their teacher, Mr W. Lipsham, used the Flora clearing as their base for the climb. Four-wheel drive vehicles, now able to use the track to the clearing, transported the party to "base". These photographs of this very worthwhile exercise were provided by the children.
The party moves through the pot-holed region during the ascent (a 1½-hour climb still ahead of the party)
