Twenty-four cars were entered in this year's Mobil economy run staged by the Nelson Car Club. The course was to Picton and return and the event was held on a balmy autumn day. Winner of the event, Bob Stewart, clocked in the amazing total of 54.21 miles per gallon for the event. At RIGHT, Bob looks in the tank of his Renault Dauphine and exclaims with delight "There's more there now than when I started." Some car! Ready to get away, are Dave Sigley, Jan Smith, Sue Muncaster and Lawry Wilson.
