Silver Wedding

After nine years on the committee of the Friday night basketball competitions, Mrs Betty Webb and Mr Fred Harding retired recently. Both have sacrificed their Friday nights during the winters for the last nine years, to foster indoor basketball in the junior ranks. To thank them for their services, Mr Kelvin Gay presented Mrs Webb and Mrs Harding (on behalf of Mr Harding) with farewell presents recently.

The aircraft is a Beechcraft, and it was flown to Nelson from San Rosa (in hops) by Ted Miller (below) and Emil Tedeschi, in a trans-Pacific flying holiday. With them is Mrs Anne Hayward, whom Ted taught to fly in California. Mr and Mrs Hayward have now settled in Nelson.
