Trophies for Swimmers
The Nelson South Swimming Club closed its season with a dinner at which trophies won during the year were presented.
Nelson-Marlborough centre awards were won by (back) Mary-Therese Smith, Warwick Reid, Elaine Pool, Chester Walls and (front) Avryl Hockey, Bronwyn Fowler and Anne Williams.
Mr T. Harp, headmaster of Hampden Street School, who made the presentations, with two most improved swimmers, John Slotmaker and Ruth Strange.

Patti Burson won the life saving cup
Nicholas Slow was the under 10 years boys' champion
