Swimming Season Opens

The swimming season at the Municipal Pool opened very early this year, thanks to the Nelson Swimming Club. The club cleaned out its coffers to provide a heating unit for the pool and this was handed over to the City Council officially at its opening day recently. This is a particularly fine civic gesture by the club, and it is to be hoped that the Council, should it find at the end of the season that its pool revenue has increased to any marked degree, will in part recompense the club for the terrific outlay it had to undertake. The unit cost $3500.
