Bad Weather Affects Gliding

(Photos: John R. Sharp, Motueka)

Gliders and pilots from all parts of the South Island had a very disappointing South Island championship meeting at Lake Rotoiti. Adverse weather permitted flying on only two days and as three days had to be completed under the championship rules, no champion could be declared. The meeting was run over five days.

Overall winner of tne event was well known Christchurch pilot, S. H. Georgeson. Nelson entrants, R. L. Sharland and A. W. Barrow, were fourth and fifth respectively.
