Murchison News

The Murchison Axemen's Club held a very successful chopping carnival at Murchison recently, with competitors from Murchison, Nelson district, West Coast and Marlborough taking part.

"All donations gratefully received" was the plea of Murray McDonald, Geoff Gill, Bill Norriss and Paddy Byrne, as they take up a blanket collection.

The rather harrassed looking lady is Mrs P. Dyer, organiser of the Murchison District High School 5th form which catered for the hungry choppers. The form is soon to leave on a week-long trip around Auckland and the $100 raised by catering will go a long way towards meeting expenses.
