"The Gap" Is Bridged

"Operation Bridge the Gap", undertaken by staff and pupils of Nelson College for Girls, has been an outstanding success. The "gap" (the difference between what the education department pays out in incidental grants and what is actually required) was well bridged. Staff and pupils set out to raise $4000, The end result could well be closer to $5300. The girls raised nearly $2000 on their own initiative, and more than $3300 was raised at a monster fair later in the month. One of the more ambitious schemes was this car wash (above) operated by the girls.
