Passion Play Drew Big Crowd

Although plagued by wet and cold weather which caused the cancellation of the production on the Good Friday evening, the Passion Play produced by Len Assheton-Harbord was still an outstanding success. More than 2000 braved the cold weather to watch the drama of the passion of Christ unfold on the eastern slopes of Church Hill. The cast of over 70 rose to the occasion and the final scenes of the passion and crucifixion of Christ were vividly portrayed. Our pictures were taken at the final dress rehearsal.
