New Owners For Wakatu Hotel

The Wakatu HoteL, on the corner of Bridge and Collingwood streets, changed hands at the end of last month. New owners are Ross and Keith Williams, proprietors of the Crystal Milk Bar and Tea Rooms. The price paid for the building has not been disclosed. Since Mr and Mrs Halkett took over the Wakatu 5 years ago, considerable improvements have been made to the building. Both bars have been extended and five new rooms with all facilities added. The Wakatu is one of the few hotels not brewery-owned in the Nelson district.
