Pastoral Queen Chosen

Miss June Pogmore, a 20-year-old schoolteacher, won the Nelson district final of the New Zealand Pastoral Queen contest in Nelson, and at left is presented with the winner's sash by Mrs D. C. Parkes, wife of the Nelson A and P Association president. Unfortunately June was beaten in the "Top of the South" regional final in Blenheim. Above: All the Nelson entrants lined up for judging and, below, June is flanked by second and third placegetters, Pam Scoltock (left) and Carol Waddington (right). Enjoying the evening were Jennifer and Colin Hunt (bottom left) and Betty, Tom and Kim McKay (bottom right).
