Ramblers' Knockout Cricket

Nelson City had a handsome win in the inaugural knockout cricket tournament organised by the Ramblers' Club. In the final, Nelson City scored 235 very quick runs and then dismissed Marlborough for only 58. G. Lane, with a fine 78 and two wickets for no runs in one over, was awarded the "Dick Motz" bat. Without a doubt the Ramblers' Club succeeded in its plan to encourage bright and breezy cricket and it seems certain, now, that the tournament will add a little more zest to future cricket seasons.
