Several students from South East Asian countries are attending Nelson secondary schools this year. Pictured above are Thomas Iboh and Lah Jav, pupils of Waimea College. Two of the Thai pupils attending Nelson College for Girls are Asriya Khuptawathin, of Bangkok, and Nantana Udomphom, also from Bangkok, who have spent the last five years in India. They are receiving some advice from Kay Scott (Riwaka) as they settle in at the college hostel.
