James Bond in Nelson
The sleek Aston Martin pulled in to the kerb at the Buccaneer Steak-house at Tahunanui, and its occupant demanded in a gruff voice: "A big steak, and make it snappy." John Brunwin, chef-owner of the steakhouse. rushed to comply with the order, for it came from James Bond himself. And everyone knows who he is. On this occasion, however, James Bond is a pedigree boxer owned by Richard Bright of Wellington, and cared for by Mrs F. G. Bright in Nelson. The Aston Martin is Mr Brunwin's car. A spoof, of course, but the association of an Aston Martin with James Bond was too good to miss.
