Six debutantes were presented at the Combined Colleges annual ball held on Friday, 8th June, at Poho-o-Rawiri. A cocktail and dinner party was held at Ulverstone prior to the dance. The debutantes from left are; Diana Field, daughter of Mr and Mrs V. R. Field, Hexton; Julie Pyke, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. R. Pyke, Waingake; Dinah Allan, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Allan, Tukura Road; Jenny Irvine, daughter of Dr and Mrs V. H. Irvine, Stafford Street; Judith Fraser, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. G. Fraser, Whangara; Robin Armstrong, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. D. Armstrong, Darwin Road.
