Ballroom Girl Of The Year

A fashion parade, featuring a "Ballroom Girl of the Year" competition, was staged by the Poverty Bay Basketball Association in conjunction with Adair Bros. Ltd., at War Memorial Hall recently. Contestants representing ten basketball teams paraded before the audience in the first half of the programme, and after a public vote had been taken, the winner, Miss Kay Larmer, was announced.

The fashion parade, which covered a variety of clothing ranging from swim-suits to winter coats, was held to raise funds to send a representative basketball team to the New Zealand tournament.
