Hori's Page
Travelling to Auckland recently, the Roving Hori was about 20 miles 1 south of the metropolis when suddenly he thought he was back home in Tolaga Bay. The reason was that he had sighted a hotel built in the same unusual architectural style as the Tolaga Bay Inn. It is to be found at Drury.
The Tolaga Bay Inn
the hotel at Drury.
Old picture postcard taken at Tolaga Bay, entitled "Springtime", shows cultivation of land at Hauiti with horse and I plough. In background is the old Tolaga Bay bridge. Picture would be taken about 1912.
Hector Gray, a Uawa County grader driver, known as the man with the two-tone beard, is also a hangi expert. He is seen here sampaling some of his own cooking.
