The exciting win by the Poverty Bay cricket team over Waikato last month brings to mind some of the earlier cricket teams in Gisborne. Stalwarts of the Kia Kaha seniors are pictured above. They won the P.B. title in 1915-16, and for four years in succession. The picture was sent over to Mr L. Jackson, 42 Lyndhurst Street, by G. (Mick) Hooker, a member of the team. In the back row, from left to right, are J. Riddle, G. moker, Turiki Pere. B. Hosier, B. Morrison, J. Nugent, and T. Sharp (umpire). Middle row: M. Guthrieu, D. Miller (captain), Mr Harvey (president), Mr Brewster (secretary), Mr Mason. In front, Alf Wood, Jim Gisbson. In his letter, Mick Hooker, who lives at 27, Mc-Burney Ave., Sydney, reports that he is "still batting well".

From Mr F. Keats, 12 Bull Street, comes this interesting picture of the Waerenga-a-hika Maori College, which was destroyed by fire in 1937.
