Rose And Iris Show

Although the weather was not too kind to the irises, the roses on display at the Rose and Iris Show in the Array Hall last month were a breathtaking lot.

Mrs R. E. Coulston's Arrangement in Tones of Pink, which was voted by the judge the "most outstanding arrangement in the show".

Mrs P. Boal's first prize "arrangement with the picture that inspired it", featuring the unusual Strelitzia ("Birds of Paradise").

The champion collection, Roses in front, from left are: (1) Mrs D. M. Wohn-siedler's "My Choice", premier bloom in novice classes; (2) Mr S. B. Monck's "Peace", premier bloom in the amateur classes; (3) Mr R. C. A. Tomble-son's "Josephine Bruce", the premier bioom, open classes, and champion rose of show. Irises at rear are: (1) Mrs M. Ashton's "Peichah", premier bloom in novice classes and champion iris of show; Mrs H. J. Masemann's premier iris in open classes; (3) Mrs C. J. Lloyd's premier iria in amateur classes.
