Sister Wilson, well-known member of the Cook Hospital staff, who is retiring after 20 years at the hospital, was farewelled recently at a function in the Nurses' Home. She is seen here, at left, receiving a presentation transistor radio from Miss Bunt. Sister Wilson has of recent years been in charge of Ward 7, where her care and concern for the old folk will be long remembered. She is returning to the South Island to live.

Mrs Amy Adcroft, who has lived in Gisborne since 1911, recently celebrated her 89th birthday. In this four-generation picture, taken on her birthday, she is seen with her daughter, Mrs W. A. Blair, Salisbury Road, her grand-daughter, Mrs P. Ross, Cambridge Terrace, and her great-grand-daughter, Gillian Ross, aged 4.

Mr Don Emms, who has returned to Gisborne to take up his new appointment as chief stationmaster. Mr Emms was formerly here as assistant stationmaster (goods).

Here for a year to study at Gisborne Boys' High School as a Rotary exchange scholar is Frank Innes, aged 15, from New Milford, Pennsylvania.

Reunited after 12 years at the wedding of Miss Wilma (Billie) O'Connell to Mr George Bruce Summer at Taurahga were these members of the O'Connell family. From left, Mrs Lesley Martin, Gisborne (sister of the bride), Mr Tom O'Connell, Auckland, (father of the bride), Billie O'Connell (now Mrs Sumner), Mrs Tom O'Connell, and Mr Jim O'Connell, Tauranga (brother of the bride). Mrs Martin resides in Gisborne, and all the others were formerly of this city.
