Gisborne and district Girl Guides assembled outside Holy Trinity Church following the annual thanksgiving service. At the Church door are the Rev. T. V. Pearson, who conducted the service, Mrs Nugent, divisional commissioner of Girl Guides, and Mrs Fry, district captain, and members of the Trefoil Guild.

It has been a wonderful season for blossom this year in Gisborne. The azaleas, wistaria, and flowering cherries have been a real picture over the past few weeks. This picture shows a flowering cherry in Anzac Park.

With a temperature of 87 degrees on Labour weekend Sunday, many people took their first swim of the season earlier than usual. There were big crowds at all the local beaches. This picture was taken at Waikanae on the Saturday.
