After 35 years
There must be thousands of people who have a special bond with Adam Hair, the cheerful little man at Cook Hospital who of recent years has been theatre orderly, and who was formerly a porter there.
For 35 years he has been on the job at the hospital, and his good-humoured attentions on the way to the operating table must have softened the fear of impending surgery for many a patient.
Now Adam has retired. At a recent function he was presented by the board secretary, Mr Bettridge, with a chair as a token of esteem.
